GRIEF

Unless and until you’ve been there, no one can truly understand the debilitating emotional drain caused by GRIEF. Death is many things…frightening, cruel, and most of all final, however it is inevitable! Losing someone you love is the most difficult thing the human spirit is forced to endure. I speak from my own personal experiences with losing my loved ones…

Gut wrenching pain that grips your heart in a vice so powerful you simply cannot imagine surviving such agony. Moment by moment your only focus becomes taking that next breath! The finality of death hits you like a ton of bricks!

Reality slowly dawns and you recognize life must come full circle, and the journey into eternity is one we must all take alone. Tears and abject misery are your heavily burdened heart’s only relief from the searing pain and sadness.

Infuriated at having your loved one ripped from your life, you lash out at the universe! Why was your loved one taken from you now, and how could life be so cruel! The emotional pain becomes a raw physical ache!

Even in your darkest hour, you know deep in your heart death is predestined in the master plan and nothing could have changed what was meant to be. But a veil of sadness rests upon your shoulders with a burden so heavy you stumble under its weight. How do you go on?

Finally the heart wrenching pain begins to ease a little and the sun shines again. There’s an empty feeling inside, and memories become your soul’s lifeline to the one you lost. And life goes on!

Grief is a cruel mistress until we realize that it is the price we must pay for love. Patrick

Found my father my very best friend dead in his apt. He couldn't pay his bills so he took a bottle of pills. It has been three years and the vision is still there like yesterday...I have had so many friends say they understand my pain but haven't lost a parent. You only know the pain when it has happened to you. You have written perfectly the steps one takes when they are faced with death. Only one that has had this happen to them could write these words. I do feel an emptiness inside but know life goes on....love, and peace always! Chessly

So true, so real. The words jump off the page to console those in grief. A powerful, understanding write that is SO on target. Very good, Annabel.

A powerful, yet beautiful write. Grief grips us so deep that one wonders how they can ever face tomorrow. May God bless you every day of your life.

I think this is an exquisite writing which expands understanding of grief, Anna. We all have to make our ways through this pain and you offer wise council and uplifting ways.

Wow again! Your topic here spans and very nicely done in spelling it out on paper. Congratulations on this one. No pain greater than that of the survivor.

Insightful prose, Anna. I think the master plan should have been thought out a bit longer, though.

Whenever I lose someone I love or I thought of as a friend, the first feeling I feel is that of there is now a hole in my universe where that person recently was. I do, I actually sense a black hole and a sense of non reclaimable loss. This recently was the case with a friend that I rode bicycles with. He wasn't loved by me, but he was liked and each morning when I set out with the group that I ride with, I sense a hole where my friend David was. I assume that you have recently lost a loved one... Iam sorry.
Your friend; Mark
