In the fen--

the blue heron calls
where bogs run deep.
Moss hangs low and
moon-casts shadows creep--
My heart is cold as...
nevermind...
I am out of step
with the sweep of time--

I am forever...
at river's edge--
yelow eyes in the reeds,
half-submerged,
I drift, Just a log...floating...
no danger here...
just us gators.
Have no fear...

Until I rise with open jaws,
thrusting tail...
and my pretty smile.
saying stay....
awhile.
stay forever.

"stay...awhile. stay forever." Brings chills. Thanks for a goosebump-ride. You set a wonderful swampy scene. Thanks, Lee.
