The Ghost of The Round Tower
Aye, tis a tale from a long time ago,
On the furth of the keep,
Two lovers would steal away,
By the tower they would meet.
He was a tinkers son,
But she of royal blood,
He would steal away easily,
But she must wear a hood.
They knew that this love,
Would never be allowed,
So they just snuck away,
For to the king they bowed.
Then one day their
Secret became known,
The king had them followed
to the tower from her home.
Caught in the room ,
At the very top ,
The soldiers surrounded the tower,
She cried for them to stop.
But they would not listen to her pleas,
The tinker,s son fought well,
But they threw him out the window,
He fought to no avail.
My Lady screamed , nay!
But is was too late,
She jumped out the window ,
To meet her destiny with fate.
Now the townsfolk say,
That every night ,
When the moon is clear,
My Lady cries, and sheds a tear.
If you look up at the tower,
You will see her there,
Waiting for her lover,
Combing her long red hair.
Tis the story of the tower,
Been told for nae on hundreds of years,
About the tinker,s son,
With The Lady Gweniever
