Trick or Treat

I hear the little gremlins

Running wild out in the streets

Packs of them are howling

They’re begging all for tricks or treats

I think I’m going to play the trick

Put on my witches gown

Prepare a big black cauldron

And paint on a frightful frown

Then I’m going to trap some spiders

And place them in a jar for show

To cast their giant shadows

On a wall through candle’s glow

Three spooky jack-o-lanterns

I have placed upon the stoop

I’ve got the haunted tunes cued up

And on the door knob slimy goop

I’m going to make them come inside

Walk through a sticky spider’s home

Into a ghoulish, boiling, smelly mist

From a cauldron’s purple foam

The sound of Werewolves howling

Coming from a room in back

Not far from the candy bowl

For the greedy little pack

And perched beside that bowl of treats

Is a foaming rabid Bat

Next to a haunted pumpkin

Guarded by a Witches Cat

Behind a curtain made of bones

The exit door resides

If they had the nerve to grab a treat

This is the only way outside

And in their fear as they depart

Another scare awaits

The trees are filled with ghosts and ghouls

With bloody heads on dinner plates
