Tricky Treats

I bought lots of Halloween candy

Though only four kids come each year

So as soon as I turn out the light

I'll have to face my greatest fear

That candy bowl will haunt me

As I think, "well, maybe one"

Believing I'll just walk away

I eat three more before I'm done

Then I eat more not to waste it

Though I know that it’s not wise

It's gonna take a month of working out

Just to remove it from my thighs

I'll be busting from my buttons

And splitting out my seams

But by absorbing all that chocolate

I'm guaranteed to have sweet dreams

I'll be retaining lots water

From all those luscious peanut treats

But if ever you should ask me

I'd say, "I'm not really fond of sweets"

Yet when it comes to tricks on Halloween

It's not the goblins that I fear

It's that I won't stop eating candies

Until I have super-sized my rear

Just thought I'd trade reviews. This one so perfectly mirrors my own Halloween dilemma. I've started giving out quarters!

I can relate here. Once I start eating candy, I can't stop.
I could eat kit-kats and peanut butter cups all day long.

I have problems every year, I always bought more than necessary to save some for myself to eat. I know this is hilarious, but this is true. Can't help it!

Oh, why did you show the Snickers, Sherry? I love Snickers. Hehehe. Halloween is a horrible holiday for chocoholics. I'm not buying candy this year. I live on a deadend street and my lights will be out. ~~Nordette

lol Sherry! Yes, I know this frightening thought well! You have a wonderful sense of humor, even if sometimes our behaviors are not so funny in the afterthoughts. I eat it, then I suffer the consequences for months to pass. I think somebody puts a magnet in the bottom of those bowls so that you are drawn to it everytime to go past it! That's it! That's it! I knew I'd figure out why I can't just leave it be!
Since I now know it's not a weakness that I'm responsible for...I won't have to feel guilty anymore! And you don't either!
Where did you say you hid that chocolate?
Happy Halloween Friend!

Cute cute poem! And so true 'bout Halloween in the cities now-a-days. However here in Parker, We run out of candy. We get over 400 trick or treaters! 40+ bags of candy! Neat place to be. When Wendon, a nearby town got flooded and washed away a couple years back, they all came here till they could go home. We had nearly 750 that year. In order to get candy here ya gotta turn out the lights before trick or treat is over and steal the candy bought for them.
Have fun and don't worry bout the silly things in life. Adopt my philosophy; I worried about my weight for over 20 years, that's long enough. Have fun, stay safe and Enjoy!

At least the picture you have
of the candy won't hurt me...
My wife has the hardest time
keeping her hands out of that candy bowl.
Let's be STRONG! and stop eating all

Blimey, how I can relate... EVERYONE is telling me to rest up and not to rush back to the gym, but my arse will be like a beanbag in no time at this rate! I always find the kids are quite distainful and picky about my offerings... hardly surprising since they tend to be whatever's been left in anyone's old coat pocket over the preceeding year.. yes, I am kiddin... I'm not QUITE that mean but still, you wouldn't want to meet me on a cold, dark night! :)) Thanks for the sense of cameraderie this evening, when I'm feeling a total couch. Fancy a tub of Ben&Jerrys? LOL Komfy Kate xx
