Last night you told me you loved me
In a drunken haze
I said it was lust or like
That you were just confused
You said you knew how you felt
I say it was the alcohol
Who is right, who is wrong
Do I want to find out
We made love last night
Arms and legs entwined
Lust is a powerful feeling
Love scares the wits out of me
Like, I’m not so sure
Maybe it’s me who's so confused
You asked me what I like in bed
You asked for my fantasies
I lied and told you I had none
Pretty sure you knew
Lying protects me
So now I’m in a quandary
Do I now try to forget
The words you uttered last night
Meant the world to me
But if I fall in love with you
What will be left of me
Responsibility pulls me this way
Want pulls the other
I wonder if I’ll ever really love myself
The way people should
Or will I deny myself
The simplest of pleasures
