She's not a girl who missed too much
pain in life; was well acquainted with
a thing called discomfort - it followed
her through life like a derailed train.
She lied with deceitful eyes, while her
hands appeared to be busy stabbing
friends in the back; she had a bar of
soap with the image of Mother Mary.
Showered with it daily in hopes of
washing away all her sins; but they
were too far ingrained - her purity
was anything but childlike.
Her 'innocence' was measured out
in minutes, her fear in seconds
For protection, liked to carry a
Jack Knife in her sweaty hands.
Big woman walking in the park
now - Jack Knife of all trades
What was about to happen to
her, she didn't have a clue.
A masher came along and Jacked
her up - now she found herself lying
in the dark, bleeding to death; was
buried the next day - unmarked grave.
No one came to visit, only her deceased
mom; "If you're lonely, you can talk to me;"
But it was too late - her soul had already
gone to Hell; all came about from neglect.

You have written this from a compassionate heart! Added to my library along with many other great reads.
You have the ability to give the reader a clear picture with your words. Her innocence was measured out in minutes-could not have been better written in any way.

Graphic. Almost witnessed the "manslaughter" in my mind. Destruction of the inner self is the most cruel of all because the person can only regain life through the love of God...the Great Healer, no human being can cure it.
