'A real cut-up.'

Poem Artwork

American physician/hung in Pentonville Prison –

London, England on November 23rd, year

1910 for the murder of his un-beloved, and

lovely wife - she mysteriously disappeared

in January of that year – he said she took a

transatlantic cruise; he was busy screwing

his mistress; she openly wore his deceased’s

jewelry and clothes – tipped off the police;

after a quick search of the house and a

talk with the Doc, Crippen and his mistress

panicked – fled to Brussels and spent the night;

following day they left for Antwerp – with their

disappearance, Scotland Yard searched the

house twice, 3rd time wasn’t a charm – she

wasn’t in the cellar, wasn’t in the garden; after

death, Cora Crippen’s bones and limbs were

removed and burned in an oven, her organs

were dissolved in acid in the bathtub; her head –

placed in a handbag and tossed overboard at

sea; a pathologist couldn’t tell if the body was

man or woman – however, he did found a piece

of her skin with an abdominal bruise; Crippen

was hung after being convicted.

Interesting crime story. If you like historical crime stories you might enjoy reading Alias Grace by Canadian author Margaret Atwood.
Just a editorial point Lance, I think you mean Dr. Crippen was hanged. Malcolm

When I read of such horrific crimes, I can't help but believe there is a Satan,for no one other than a person filled with an evil spirit could do such things...Excellent writing as always Lance!

Have a very Merry Christmas,;-)
