Clock no longer ticking
She had me - never her
Told her goodbye; told
me, "Il y a longtemps
que je t'aime!" (I've loved
you so long); said to her
"You're just wasting your
time!" "Why would you do
this to me" - she cried!
"I still need you!" "Don't
want to hear anymore of
your words," I said as I
stood in front of her and
tore up all of our love letters
and pictures - for affect I
set them on fire; I laughed
real hard; tears ran down
her face - "Quit your balling!"
"Give me back the engagement
ring!" Now I began to see her
resentment - took off the ring
and threw it at me; I said drop
dead and grabbed my things
And just before I left determined
She said one last thing, "I'll
never love anyone else; later
became a recluse - so be it!

Any breakup is sad, some are necessary, some shouldn't happen. Emotional and heart breaking write, my friend.

"Love is Gone" seems there wasn't any love at all from the start.
The transition from being "one" into a division of two is very strongly portrayed, though revealing immaturity from the players here.
Break-ups need not be "ugly" -it is painful, but graceful exits can be done. Final words "so be it" concludes it with: hurt for hurt.
A very good study,
Cynthia
