He awoke one morning – felt kind of strange

Had a peculiar desire to take a vacation to

the Mohawk Valley in New York; Fort

Stanwix to be exact; packed and quickly left.

Arrived – checked into his reservation, grabbed

his digital camera and went to explore; a battle

had been fought back on August 6, 1777; the

same day he showed up; all was about to change.

Parked his car – as he began walking, everything

around him was particled slowly, but steadily, into

the past; he could feel over 230 years being pulled

over his face; couldn’t believe his very eyes.

He reluctantly turned around – his vehicle was gone

There, doing battle in the forest, were colonists,

Indians, and Red Coats; and when he looked down

he was in American Revolutionary regalia.

In less than a Minute [man] – he and what used to be

2008 had all been transported back in time; so shocked

he stumbled; lost his balance and slid down a fifty foot

ravine; right into Bloody Creek with long-rifle in hand.

Musket balls zinged by his ears as they exchanged sides

Bodies were dropping like swatted flies as they changed

the color of the creek from clear to red – then, as quickly as

it began, everyone and everything began to disintegrate.

He awoke in a nearby hospital – nobody believed his story

That is, all but the surgical team that removed several musket

balls and pieces of uniform from his body; had them analyzed

They dated back some 230 years; he had been reincarnated.

That night while resting in his hospital bed, soldiers from the

British militia came to his room, dragged him back to his grave

A nurse rushed in – screamed; there had been a struggle; all that

was left was a blood-stained Red Coat’s hat and his wrist band.
