Loving You Was Easy

Loving you,
Easy,
Soft voice,
Pretty eyes,
Full lips,
Sweet tasting-

You always knew,
What to say,
To make me stay,
One more day…

Lies,
Betrayer,
You loved another,
The whole time,

Songs for me,
Were not real,
You sang them,
To everyone-

I hate you,
I love you,
I can’t stand to look at you-
I miss you so much,

I miss believing,
You loved me.

Another wonderful piece of poetry, Reindeer. Opening up to someone and being discarded later hurts - for the lost love, and for being treated under value. Franz

Aw, the contradictions of human love/lust/emotions. We do not understand them but we are forever chasing them. We may be disappointed and hurt but still we look for them. They are our balm, our salvation, our damnation. Most of us are so vain that we can't understand why it is that our lovers can look elsewhere. I really liked your poem, Reindeer, it caused a minor volcano to erupt inside my senses as you can tell by thir rambling comment. Good stuff.

This is a superb write, Reindeer. Sometimes, we want so much to be loved that we fool ourselves into believing expressed love is genuine. The last lines say it all. Excellent work.

Tami

Retta,

When love betrays it is cruel
and yet the heart lives on
and the love as funny
as it seems becomes more intense and
grows stronger. its the threads
that pull tighter.
This is so beautiful

"I miss believing, you loved me" Right on target! It's that feeling of being loved, we want to hold on to, even if it's a lie. It's not so much missing the person, as it is not knowing how to handle his/her absense. Such is human nature. Good job on this one, Retta.
