Our last words were harsh and cruel,
I told you I wish I didn’t love you;
But it was never true ,
You are the very air I breathe,
I can not live without you.
Yet there are times,
When the world is too much for me,
And I must leave and go away,
Sometimes I enter a cave of such despair,
And darkness is everywhere…
I can bear no human touch,
No voice can I hear,
I am driven away by fear,
And want no one near…
He said,
“I know you want to leave,
Because of me,
But I will find you,
No matter where on earth you go,
I will know-
For your heart calls out to me,
From somewhere deep within,
I feel you.
I see you.
I love you.
Man needs sleep and food,
To survive in this world,
But he can not live without love,
I will find you.
Whether you have passed into darkness,
Or simply deep within your mind,
I will come to you,
And give you my heart…
His words spoken in such passion,
Eased my troubled heart,
To hold such love for one,
Much surely be a place to start,
Finding a new way to believe,
In this love you have for me…
His words,
His passionate plea,
“No matter where you go,
I will find you…”
Echo in my troubled heart…
My love,
Find me.
Pull me from this dark pit,
Shine the light of your love on my heart,
Teach me to believe in love and honor once more;
Hurt and anger...rejection and denial...despair and regret. Through all this, love lives on. It leaves an imprint on our hearts, like this poem, Retta...
You have stopped the thundering of my heart and held me in suspended impression.
To be so captivating as to engulf the reader as you have just done me is every poet's dream.
My love,
Find me.
Pull me from this dark pit,
Shine the light of your love on my heart,
Teach me to believe in love and honor once more;
Find me…
Everyone desires this, you've captured it so well.

Your words here really touched this BiPolar being, and I
felt them to the core. How well I know these feelings!
This is a most beautifully expressed piece, LaBelle...I
enjoyed it immensely.

A cry for love's salvation. Maybe love needs a little help to let your light shine so he will have a beacon to follor to you. Good poem.
A very touching write with much love and sentiments. Sometimes love that has gone astray can be regained and retrieved once again. I wish you the best.
This is a powerfully emotional piece, Reindeer. This will hit home with all who read it. Sometimes we push love away, even though we know it is essential for our survival. This is excellent writing. Merry Christmas to you and may your New Year be blessed with love and peace.
Take care,
Sherry
Retta,
This is going to touch and leave imprints on everyone that reads it. Lasting imprints.
You're right, everyone needs love of some sort to live. Whether by another mortal, or pet, or just the smile from a child in a line. We all need to feel as though somebody cares.
Thank you Retta for sharing this wonderful write.
Happy Holidays!
