Seasons of Our Love
In spring,
Our love buds,
Sweetness and light,
Making our lives a joy-
We are young now,
And everything is possible,
The future knows no boundaries,
And we feel that love will last forever…
By summer our passions burn brightly,
Raging fire that sears our souls,
I love you so much it hurts-
And you cannot bear to leave my side…
In fall the fire has dampened,
To a deep understanding that,
We shall be together for ever,
We move slower now,
And those passionate kisses are forgotten,
Instead there is comfort to be found,
In holding you close watching the moon rise…
Winter’s pale moon rises,
Yet our love has never dimmed,
We are closer now,
Then we have ever been,
Our hearts have remained young,
The weakness of the flesh has staked its claim,
And though age shows itself to others,
I am blind to its revelations,
Seeing only the lovely beauty,
I long ago claimed as my bride…
