Don’t call me friend, You know I can’t leave, My Mountains, My Forests, My trees… Don’t say you love me, You’re not my kind, Not of my people, Not of my tribe… I am forbidden to love you, Touch your sweet face, Let you hold me, In your strong embrace… Why then does my heart flutter so? My soul leap, My breathing stop, My nights spent so empty of sleep… We are not allowed to touch, To kiss- You’re making me Want you way too much… What is this thing you want to give me? This sharing of lives, This friendship that never dies… What is this Love you speak of? This pain, This torment This thing that drives so many insane… Why wish this thing on me, Can’t you see? Don’t believe? I’d rather you just let me be… Than have this thing you keep trying to bring, Into my life, My world, Saying you want to make me your wife… There was never anything there that I desired, I only see the ground below me, And the sky above, I never learned to believe in love… Think I like it better here, Safer then where you are there. So keep your gift, Your hope, your dream, I do not accept this terrible thing…
