Trust,
A word that means so much to you,
Something I wish I could do,
The way you want me to…
I try so hard not to let you down,
Bringing your belief in me
Crashing to the ground…
I make you sad,
Make you mad,
Can’t seem to stop
Hurting you,
Something I never wanted
To do…
I don’t know what to say,
To make things okay,
I thought I was doing the right thing,
Trying so hard not to bring
You more grief,
But it was only me
That found relief…
And now I weep,
But my tears help only me,
Doesn’t help you to see
That I want to be
Everything you seek
In a friend,
And I am so afraid
It will end…
Even that makes you mad,
For you think I do not believe,
In the words you speak,
When all the while,
It is me that is weak…
Please don’t say the things you do,
Don’t believe that it is you.
It never was,
It never will be…
You are everything to me,
A friend I want forever,
I just wish that I never
Made you doubt my trust
In you…
It was something I never
Wanted to do…
Please forgive my lack,
I want you back,
I want to make you see
I want to be
What you need
In a friend,
I want to let you in…
It is my deepest sorrow
That I cannot see tomorrow,
Unless you are there,
I wish I could tell you
How much I truly care
What you think of me,
Of our friendship,
And what it means
To see your name,
To say hello,
To know
That you are there…
I will do everything I must,
To build a trust
Between us,
And I mean that
With every fiber of my being,
If you could find a way of seeing
That I am sorry for everything I do,
That makes you think I do not trust you…
