Walking In The Rain

I went walking in the rain today,
Needing to get away,
Let the rain run through my soul,
freezing the pain,
I aways seem to know...

Let the icy wind freeze my heart,
Into a block of ice,
So much better now that we're apart.
Feels so good to be alone,
My heart solid stone...

This is best for me,
Though I could never get you to see,
The world was just too d**n mean,
To live with what I've seen...

I shall walk these paths,
And know peace at last,
Letting you go,
Was for the best we both know,

So I walk in the rain,
It hides the tears I shed,
Reminding me of the friendship,
That now lies dead.

I shall not regret what I have done,
I could never give you what you needed,
I wasn't not able to walk in the sun,
It was the dark on which I feeded-

So its over now,
Let it go,
I don't need to show
How much my heart said no,

I could never let you in,
It was ever my sin,
That I pushed you out at every turn,
Did not want to feel that burn,

Could not accept what you wanted to give,
So leave me alone,
And let me live,
Deep within this Garden of Stone...

I like it! Talking to yourself, explaining what happened with a relationship and why. You didn't really love him as you need to love. thanks- Jerry

Excellent write Retta. Feelings deep inside that push the outward flow away from you so you won't succumb to the pain in your heart. ((hugs)) Bill Murray
