Magic,
The trickster waves his hand,
And things disappear,
But that is not magic,
That is deception,
To the untrained eye...
I believe in Magic,
True Magic...
The kind that fills your soul,
With longing and love,
To live in that forgotten time.
I was born and raised
In a magic town,
Among Magicians,
Who taught me,
Many strange and wonderful things-
We are connected,
They would say,
By the silver filaments
Of Chance and Circumstances,
You must bend and encircle
The mind,
So that it does not see this connection...
Thus I lived in a magic world,
Loving the creations around me,
Seeing only what existed to please my heart...
When they ask me,
These children,
Where I have been,
Who I have seen,
Why I smile in a world gone mad...
I tell them;
"I believe in Magic,
Unicorns and Fairy Rings,
Dragons who breathe fierce fire,
And Knights whose hearts desire,
Flare within a maidens breast...
Golden Pond on which to rest,
And Crystal Streams,
That echo in my dreams...
Alas,
I believe in Magic,
Love which survives the test
Of time and sorrow,
I believe,
Else I could not survive,
Could not remain alive,
In this Cruel and Ugly world,
Man has made...
I'd rather live in the shade,
Of what I percieve to be,
Than your Ugly world of reality...

world is limited
to what can be
measured by our
uncertain instruments
kills magic, and poetry
and truth...
