Finding My Way Home...

There is so little of me left,
Stretched far to thin and wide,
I wonder where to go,
Where to find my soul…
I had a piece hidden there,
Buried deep under the trees,
But then I saw it floating away,
Carried off by the breeze,

I went searching in the world,
Looking near and far,
I could not find it anywhere,
Not even beneath my scars…

I wandered down my paths today,
But my forest gave me no comfort,
My world was so gray,
The colors had all began to fade,
And I could not find my way
To the peace I use to find here,
My heart was full of fear,
For I had lost,
All that I hold dear…

I stood at the edge of my world,
Looking down towards the ground,
Wondering if it was time to finally go-
But then I heard a sound,
A voice I thought I knew,
That voice,
Was you…

It called me by a name,
Few even knew,
And suddenly I realized
Exactly what I must do…
I turned around and followed,
That lovely sound,
Listening to the words
Echoing from the ground…
You spoke to me,
Speaking so softly,
Telling me things
I would not otherwise see…

I looked into the valley,
And saw the swaying trees,
And from deep within the
Heart of my woods,
There you stood…

You were holding out your hand,
Bidding me to come,
Stay a while longer,
And you would make me stronger…

I looked back at the edge of my world,
But it held no hope for me,
You my dear friend,
Was the only thing
I could see…

It was then that I saw,
There was no way that
I could fall,
You were there all along,
Right where you belong,
And in your heart you kept safe,
My lost piece of faith,
And there it will be forever,
For you promised me
That you would never
Leave me hear alone,
All I had to do,
Was remember it was you
That I gave my friendship to…

I heard you gentle voice,
So soft and low,
Telling me which way to go…
Suddenly I didn’t feel so lost,
And the early morning frost
Was melting at my feet…

It was written in the stars
That we would somehow meet,
And now I see you clear,
Standing so near,
Repeating the words that eased my fear…

“Where ever you may go,
You must always know,
That I am in your heart,
And none can take apart
The friendship that we built
Removing stone by stone,
The wall that kept you alone…
I will always be here,
My word is my bond,
It doesn’t matter if you never see me,
I will never be gone…”

These words I hear in my sleep
And I keep
Them in my heart,
For now I know for sure,
We will never part…

This friendship will last forever and a day,
The light that you shine,
Will always show the way,
And I will remove that last stone,
And finally find my way home…
