I say this to you,
That never knew me,
Do not weep for the child
I never was-
I can not feel its loss...
I miss only what I perceived
Others received that I did not...
I miss being loved,
Treasured,
Adored...
I miss being able to trust,
To share who and what I am...
I often wish I had the strength
To ask someone to sit with me awhile.
When my heart is filled with great sadness,
And instruments of Death
Dance in my head...

Sitting in the Dark,
Listening to the wind blow
through the trees,
Shaking the leaves,
Sounds like their asking me
To come home...
I wander over,
Enter the darkness of my world,
Try to shore up my heart
With the few happy memories I possess-

I go about gathering up twigs,
As I gather my courage,
Knowing I must soon fling open that door,
between our worlds again-
And I know I am not ready...
To enter that dark and evil place,
Where I must struggle to survive-
Where I lose my way,
Not knowing if I am right or wrong,
Damned or Saved,
Found wanting and Cast aside
Like a used toy...

Your world,
So Empty of Honor,
So blighted with Death and Horror...
A World of Liars and Soul Theives,
Of men who make Empty Promises,
They never intended to keep...
Where Love,
Is just another dirty four letter word.
A place where people smile,
Then spit in your face-
And those who claim to love a name,
They cannot even pronounce...

I like my world better,
Strong men love Strong Women,
Dragons fly in the moonlit sky,
Love is given and accepted...
And Men are True,
Loving without fear,
Women can be Beautiful,
And feel no pain...

A world I can live in,
So go,
And live your life where you may,
And leave me to mine.
Here in the Forest of the Moon,
Where I Live happy,
But alone.

Retta, everything okay? At first I was completely worried and then you seem to have found your strength, taken it by the horns and made it true for you. Some very powerful messages here. And many messages here.

They can't ALL be that bad! I like the "soul theives" reference.
