* Okay..I bet your getting sick of these...I think I got it worked out now...anyway..one last time...
See,
I thought you were my friend,
And I didn’t catch the rules,
It hurt when reality came crashing in,
But now I understand,
You weren’t a real man…
See,
I fell today,
Came crashing down,
When I found,
All I thought about you,
Turned out not to be true …
See,
I thought I’d found a friend,
After years of not letting anyone in,
I thought you meant what you said,
Never dawned on me you’d leave me for dead…
See,
You said you’d be true ,
And like a fool I believed you,
I thought you meant it
When you said you would stay,
Now I realize how lucky I was,
To even get away…
See,
I realized something today,
I’m not real at all,
And that’s what made me fall,
Because I thought we were real,
Never thought I could feel
Like that again…
See,
I got it now,
I know now where I stand,
Just wish I known you were never real,
Just some childish invisible friend,
That haunted me,
Until I learned to see,
We could never really be,
All that close-
After all,
You were just a ghost…

You know Rein...it's amazing how the few are true and the many are wolves in sheeps clothing. Unfortunately, they are hard to figure out until you are hit hard with the truth. Keep your head up. There is always someone there to pick you up when you fall. That someone is me. LC
One never tires of meeting true feelings face to face...things that need to be reckoned with up front.
I disagree with the one that said "At some point childhood ends"....the demons of our past lives never leave us, but are carried on with us to our graves. One who can move beyond that point without looking back or a twinge of regret or remorse has little left inside. I applaud your courage to face those that don't have your best interest at heart and tell them to be gone!

Oh Retta, this series of "go to hell" poetry is excellent. Each one getting better and better. Which is really amazing considering how great they all are.

A book-length psychodynamic study of pathological narcissism, relationships
with abusive narcissists, and the Narcissistic Personality Disorder, using a new vocabulary.
Hundreds of excerpts from the archives of the Narcissistic Abuse Study List regarding Pathological Narcissism, relationships with abusive narcissists, and the Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).
This is another excellent, compelling piece.

Throw holy water on your screen
And let that demon not be seen
For you deserve total respect
You've got your ownself to protect!!!
Hope you feel better
and you got it all out
You write so well!!!
Smile!
