True To Me…

You say you were true ,
But how does that explain,
All the things you do?

You say you didn’t want to change me,
Then why did you get mad,
When I didn’t agree?

You say you wanted me to speak,
Then ran away,
When you didn’t like
What I had to say…

You said you’d always be there,
Yet I am looking around,
And you’re no where to be found…

So you were true to me?
Or where you true to you?
“I lied,”
Kind of says it all…
“She doesn’t deserve the truth”
I think reveals a lot,
I know it said something to me,
You weren’t what I thought…

I can’t really blame you,
I am at fault too,
See my friend,
I believed in you…

What a stupid thing to do,
When I had it all wrapped up,
Knowing men love to play,
You can’t believe a word they say…

I should have kept it that way,
Then I would never have been crushed,
But I was feeling that rush,
You get when you think you’ve found a friend,
Someone you want to let in…

See I never fell
For the others who pretend,
To be my friend,
I just smile and nod my head,
Knowing their words are dead,
That they are no more real,
Then how I feel…

I don’t even know why,
It was you I tried,
To keep in my heart,
When I knew
You were only playing a part…

Guess its cause you kept saying,
You never lie,
Your truth a burning ember,
A knife that cut so deep,
It haunted me in my sleep…

You reminded me of someone,
But when it was all said and done,
You didn’t even come close,
You were just a damn ghost,

A single click and your gone,
Without even saying good-bye,
And even when you were here,
You usually made me cry…
See, I believed in you,
And it was something I should never do…

You said, friends can say anything,
Speak what’s on my mind,
Then turned away and wouldn’t listen,
When I tried…

You ask questions,
But can’t bear the answers,
Preferring to tear me apart,
Shred my broken heart…

But that’s okay,
I don’t like talking anyway,
Better to keep quiet,
Then chase you away…

You want me to say
Things that cause pain,
But that is not my way,
I only said them to you,
Because you told me too…

But it’s all good,
You left like you said you never would,
And I have returned to where it is safe,
I don’t like your world anyway,
You make too many people cry,
And you wanted me to try
And be like you,
Something I could never do…

So you were true to me,
I think you were true to you,
I guess truth means,
What ever you want it to…
