*Done... Ending a freindship for good.*
(I'm not jumping k)
On the eve of the last Dark Moon,
I sought solace in my forest,
Needing to escape your embrace,
Could not stand to see your face,
And so I fled to where my journey’s end…
In the shadows of a dark moon
I traveled and did not stumble,
For I knew this path so well,
I could traverse it in my sleep,
And here I sought my peace…
For the night does not frighten me,
Nor the strange and lovely sounds
Of those who hunt make me tremble,
Rather I find comfort in their harsh cries,
And the lonely sound of the wolf
Calling to his mate…
How I wish he would call to me!
I would run by his side for all eternity,
Let the wind flow through my hair,
And live without a care
In the darkness of my wood…
I stand now…
On my large stone,
And feel so alone,
Feel like tilting my head,
And bearing my heart,
Scream into the night,
My pain and outrage
At what you have done…
But I was raised to be a quiet child,
Though the beast lies trembling
Within my breast,
Only claws its way free now and again,
Driving me into this wild night,
Amid the storm you fear,
The lightening that flashes in the sky
The wind that howls at your back,
And feel at home here in the forest,
Amidst my own kind-
And in the shadows of the dark moon,
I grieve for what might have been-
Daring myself to step closer
To the edge of my world,
And looking down,
See naught,
But all I was taught
To believe…
We do not end here,
We become part of the world
When we die,
Feeding earth,
With what we gave,
And what gift have I,
But my own life?
In the shadows of that dark moon,
I leaped into that dark abyss,
And for once,
It was not you that I missed…

Your words are like a motion picture you
can almost visualize what your words are
saying, I know good poetry when I read it
and you are good...
Rein--you really know how to speak your mind and this poem does it very well. I'm glad that you know and found your saving grace because I want to continue to see that beautiful smile on your face. *smile* LC
