Summer’s Child,

Ran through fields of yellow mustard,

Weeds grown long past her slender shoulders.

She ran on a path only she could see,

And felt her way through Summer’s burning breeze-

Tall yellow flowers called her on,

Tender wild grasses bade her to run faster,

The hidden stream babbled at her to stay true …



Then she found the entrance to her world,

Over that large gray rock,

And through those long limbed trees,

And then she was home,

Swallowed whole by her dream…
