My Garden,

Surrounded by Stone Walls,

So tall, so thick,

You wonder what mason worked this magic

Without using brick.



You try to peer through the cracks,

But my stones are true ,

And hide me from you.



You may be surprised to know,

That each stone can stand alone,

Each stone so carefully chosen,

By a child’s hand,

or a young woman’s heart eternally frozen.



Stones that are true , hard, and pure.

Stones that made promises

They have kept for centuries

And now keep for me.



They stand between the world and I,

Teaching us not to cry,

Tears that went unshed so long,

It only served to make us strong.

It doesn’t even matter what went wrong,





Its over now, the choice made,

The life I left,

The life you failed to save…

Stands on the other side,

You can’t get to me,

It’s useless to try.



You may not look here-

You may not visit-

You may touch my wall,

But you’ll never touch me.
