My Spirit Shall Not Die...

*hmmm...I was a bit angry when I wrote this, may be a bit rough...*

On this cold and dark night,
I walked and tried to fight,
Against the spirits that call,
Urging me to take that fall,
Into that dark abyss,
Where I shall not be missed-

Remembering how much I hurt you baby,
How much I let you hurt me,
Each of us trying to see,
Much too deep…

Something’s are better off hid,
Rather be dead,
Than remember what you did,
You lied,
You changed,
And it kills me to see,
That you think you became me-

And I,
What of me?
Who did I become baby,
Cause it sure wasn’t you…
And I wouldn’t want to!

You took something from me,
Something I can never get back,
Something far more serious,
Than I took from you…
You crashed me baby,
Made me so blue,
Didn’t even give me a chance,
To answer you…

We shared too many secrets,
Got to know each other too well,
Damn how much I preferred,
Living in my hell…

At least there the demons were real,
They didn’t pretend to be,
Something that could feel,
Just cold and harsh and cruel,
But that I was use to…

It was that soft mouth,
I never heard before,
Always trying to break down my door-
Those eyes that held mine,
And still lied…
All you say to spare me pain,
Driving me insane,
With your damn games…

How much you must have laughed,
As I wondered what you gained…
Laugh and make fun,
But it’s over now,
Done…

My spirit is still here,
I am not cowering in fear,
Merely planning the next attack,
Better watch your back…

You threw the first stone,
Thinking I was alone,
But I am not,
For standing behind me,
Is the blood of a thousand warriors,
The sons of kings,
The daughters of those who bring,
Me that spirit you say you saw,
Well, let me give you a better view,
Be warned I am not done with you…

For my spirit is still alive,
And now I see through your many lies,
But they have made you weak,
And it is you, not I who weep…

Stand and look before you,
And what do you see?
This warrior woman who shall
Tear out your heart,
And drink deep of the blood you spilled,
For it is the power of my will,
That shall keep my spirit alive,
Long after yours has died!

Wow!!!!
I've always thought love is allowing others to matter to us...and when they do...they can sure get to us.
But as long as they are getting to us...we are allowing them to matter to us.
If they don't deserve that...may they feel the power when they no longer matter, and we are free.
Awesome poem!!!

A "little angry," huh? I'd hate to get your bad side! Love this best of all:
"...standing behind me,
Is the blood of a thousand warriors,
The sons of kings,
The daughters of those who bring,
Me that spirit you say you saw..."

I get this mental image of you standing rigid with your hands balled up on your hips...good for you!
