I Lost My Friend...

My friend,
Lives in a make believe world,
One I chose foolishly
To believe in…

He held out his hand,
And pulled me into his fantasy land,
Where friends are honest,
And speak the truth-

He claimed to see me,
Kasut un chenie,
To peer into my soul,
To somehow know
The things I tried to hide,
And I often wonder why,
He chose me…

I wish now,
That he had never come,
To leave my world so undone,
Now vacant and barren,
Like the desert in my dreams…

I was happy enough,
Just being alone,
Didn’t need a friend,
In my world of stone…

For long ago as a child,
I discovered a hidden world,
One dark and safe,
Where I found I could live,
Could actually breathe,
And write lovely tales
Of sorrow and pain,
Yet never feel a thing,
Never felt the agony,
My tales would bring…

I kept it separate from myself,
Never touched me at all,
It was just something,
I hid behind a wall…

Then he came,
And he brought the sun,
And he gave me flowers,
That I could smell,
He gave me back my soul,
So I could feel,
And I longed to touch his face,
To see if he was real…

But shadows grew in the garden,
When the sun went down,
And I began to notice,
How often he wore a frown…

Suddenly I made him mad,
And he made me sad,
And we seem to come apart,
I was no longer in his heart…

I left him,
And he left me,
Standing alone in the shadows,
Of my beautiful trees…

And I miss him,
And his sweet songs,
Just can’t help wondering,
What went so wrong…

We tried again,
But it wasn’t the same,
And both of us,
Learned to accept the blame…
But still I hear his name,
Being borne on the breeze,
Whispered among my trees,
Whispered by me…

It wouldn’t be so bad,
If I had never known such bliss,
Never felt the soft kiss,
Of his friendship on my lips...
And I wonder so sadly,
How it came to this…

I reentered my house of stone,
Where I am always alone,
And I walk among my trees,
Trying not to see,
Trying not to hear,
The song he whispered to me…

But it was a lovely song,
With a haunting tune,
And when I walk at noon,
I hear it in my soul,
And only wish I could know,
Such a thing again,
As the friendship we shared,
Could not be compared,
To anything I have ever known,
as I knew then-
I can only say softly,
I lost my friend…

You would have had to experience this to know the deep feelings it leaves behind. Someone special touched you and when you let go it reverberates from time to time. But know that what is gone cannot be revived in the same way for life continuously adjusts and changes...for better or worse. This write relays your sadness and joy at the same time. Excellent translation of that part of your life.

Sweet Reindeer,
your heart is so huge, while your self is soooo "REAL"...
..Your life stories I have read, knowing we have sooo much in common..I feel sometimes as I read them, it is like me...The pain you have endured is deep..But your ability to rise above it is tremendous..

Love you sister,

Retta,
Listen close ok?.....this was very special indeed ok? I wish I knew what you thought of this piece! You seemed to distance yourself some, into the storyteller realm and office, therefore this tale had a differing directors lead, cant explain better sorry...but know this! I felt this was masterful...full of power
