He comes to me,
With bruises in his eyes,
Sadness in his soul,
And he just wants to know,
Some one can feel his pain...
He raises his shirt,
And shows me the bruises,
Casually shrugging them off,
Like he does not feel their pain,
But it is his eyes,
That reveal too much,
His sorrow,
His loss of faith...
I comfort him,
Trying to ease his heart,
And he begins to cry,
And shows me his arm,
Where she bit him,
Scarring his soul,
And leaving a trail of tears
That falls on his skin...
His mother,
A demon in disguise,
Giving birth to this child,
With bruised eyes,
I see in my sleep...
This boy,
Won’t leave my side.
Lays down near my desk
On a thin mat...
And I watch him sleeping,
Wondering
What his future holds
If I cant find a way
To make him whole...
I wish he were my child,
I would show him such care,
I would give him his hearts desire,
A mother's love...
ok maybe today was not a good day to return back to authorsden especially since this poem really brought back nightmaric memories of my own past but to get it out and deal with it makes us stronger you are a fantstic caring person who is so awesome nice job on this poem
I can feel your genuine heart go out to this child. Especially when there are some who have babies and are wrapped up in their own destructive lifestyles to take care of them or give them the kind of love such as you have.

This tore at my heart! Not sure what else to say, because you have done this so well that you have taken the reader into the pain of such a situation. Perfect write!
So very sad, it is hard when they come to school from homes that are so dysfunctional, isn't it? How many times I have wanted to take a student home with me, but it's just not that easy is it?

A very sad write. So many little ones share that fate. What a cruel world. S.
The abuse of children is a terrible thing. A child is a presious jem to be loved and cherished by all. A mother's love shouldn't hurt. It should be a wonderful love from God.
