You come to me,
With your arms open,
Like I am suppose to forget
Those words you said,
The ones that echo in my mind,
The ones that seared my heart
Until it lies blackened and dead
Within my unfeeling flesh…

So you peeled off the onion skin,
And exposed that white meat inside,
Taking huge bloody chunks,
And left me bleeding on the floor…
As if those wounds will ever heal!

Always claiming I owe you my life,
Thinking it was me you saved,
When we both know,
I never meant that much to you,
Until I decided to go!

And you whisper words,
I don’t want to hear,
Touch me with fingers,
I don’t want to feel,
Love me with such falseness,
As though I can’t see,
It isn’t real…

Baby,
This sweet onion,
Lies forgotten under the cupboard,
Where you placed me so long ago,
And now you wish to taste its sweetness,
But like the you I never saw,
It has gone rancid and bitter,
And I will never love you again,
Never be the bride,
You felt you had to hide
Your love from,
Your dreams you could not share,
This love you did not dare,
To let into the prison you call your life…

Fight if you must,
Cry if you still can,
But baby,
It makes no difference to me,
I have become something you
Can’t even see,
I have found me…

Created a world,
You can’t enter,
A place you will never be,
You want to say,
I am so lost,
Just because you can’t see,
Where I have gone,
But I am not the one looking,
I know where I am,
Right where I want to be,
Where you,
Will never find me…

I have found me!
Bravo. Wise words. I haven't reached that stage yet, but deep inside me I know you are right about what you wrote.
