I don’t expect you to understand,
After all you’re just a man,
But last night I shed my skin,
In a dream so damn real,
I could even feel,
The skin curl and cried in pain,
Felt like I was going insane…
It started at my hands,
So finely scarred,
Lovely lines hued in red,
That bubbled up like it was dead…
I picked and pulled until it came apart,
And you should have seen me start,
When I pulled back the sleeve,
My stomach begins to heave…
But then I saw something so strange,
The skin below was unchanged-
New and unblemished,
And suddenly I realized,
It was because of you…
Your love is changing me,
Not sure of what I will be,
But now I begin to see,
A new me…
I see the light in the world again,
It’s all because of you my friend,
I can smell the flowers sweet fragrance,
And the dream begins to make sense…
My life is changing from what it has been,
I am feeling love again,
Scary and yet brave too,
Because I can’t help but love you-
I wish you could see this new skin,
So beautiful and new,
And it’s all because of you,
And the wonderful things you do...
I guess I have only one thing left to say,
Because suddenly I realized to day;
I love you,
And know in my heart,
You love me too…
