Standing On The Shores Of Time

Standing so near,
Tomorrow’s edge,
Looking into the future,
Liking what I see,
Alas,
How it calls to me!

Finding Love at last,
So late!
Wondering in my heart,
If this too shall pass…

Whispering over and over in my head,
So my heart won’t take that fall,
Lie crushed and buried,
Beneath the desert sand,
Tried so hard not to love this man!

But I love today,
This man who stands before me,
He calls to me,
In a voice that quivers with love,
Husky and heaven sent,
I listen and my soul is rent,
With sorrow and love,
A smooth blend,
So bittersweet!

I drink its nectar,
Like a hungry soul,
Searching for the peace,
I use to know…

I stand at the edge of yesterday,
Looking back at the games,
That were played on me,
Teaching me to close my eyes,
And make fists of my hands,
To fight and never see such deceit again…

But then he came,
So beautiful,
So true ,
So damn lovely,
And I don’t know,
What to do-

But love you…

You are so good and kind,
And when you whisper;
“You are mine, just mine…”
My heart flutters anew,
And I realize then,
How much I have come,
To love you…

I stand on the shores of Time,
Sharing secrets,
That once was mine,
Hoping you hear me too,
That you know my heart is true ,
When I whisper back;
“Baby, I love you…”
