A Tribute To The Poets I Have Come To Know Friends come and go in your life, And the shadows and rainbows They reveal with their lovely words, Make me feel sometimes, That they are closer than family… I tell them things nobody knows, And they listen without judging, Understanding these come from my soul… I never found comfort in speech, Preferring to hide my feelings and thoughts in prose, How wonderful it was to discover, I was not alone… Here I found brave knights, Such as Sir Jay and Debs, Wonderful poets who were not afraid, To don their armor and fight for love… I found a lady of such beauty, Possessing such an exquisite soul, I can honestly say, The Lady Peg, Is the most beautiful person, I have ever known… I watched lightning flash across the sky With Karla and Eileen, And sat by the fire with Jon Greywolf, Steve Patterson and more… I went on vacation with Robert Blackwell, And his adventures with Renee, How I read each postcard he sent, With such glee! When the moon rose, I read Dani, What a lovely poetess she is! I could sit by the banks of my river, Reading her forever, And never leave… Tinka and I share the same dream, To love and be loved in return, La Belle sets my blood boiling, And my passions begin to burn! Robert Jude Ace and Mitchell Waldman, Show me how beautiful poetry can be, John Bidwell and Jerry Bolton, Have always encouraged me… Sanil challenged my dark heart, And taught me to see, Although the moon is beautiful, The sun can also be… Bhuwan and Trask always have, Something wise to say, I could not list all the poets, I have come to know And love in a single day, But I wanted to find some way, To tell you all how much, You all mean to me, You see, My life is poetry, And Poetry is me… So thank you for sharing, Your thoughts and lovely poems, And thank you all for accepting me, Into this lovely home… Note: The last four poems were part of a count-down to celebrate my 300th poem. It has been a real pleasure and an honor to be part of this den, and to read so many outstanding poets.
