Retta,
This is so filled with emotions that we can all relate
to in one way or another,
this is my favorite stanza:
"What can I say to such a thing?
My heart calls you to me,
And I hope one day we will know love,
As it’s supposed to be…"
You capture so much in this poem!

"loved you for eons..." sigh. yaknow, what makes this type of soulmate poetry so wistful and beautiful is that we all feel that way about somebody, in many cases, exactly the same way, so besides being eternal, it is also omnipresent...something that pervades human life and thought completely. i enjoyed this read. thank you for writing it, poet.
