Where is the Peace on Earth?
In this season of
Peace some 21
Wars are being
Fought in various locations
Around the world
And with varying
Degrees of
Intensity.
Beginning with the
Insurgency in the
Philippines to the
Northern Mali
Conflict
6 million lives
Have been lost.
Every war is being
Waged over land
Resources ideology
Or religion.
All were declared
By those too
Cowardly to fight
In them.
All are being fought
By those too ignorant
To know why.
To the victors go
The spoils?
We know only that
To the losers go
The tears and
To the world goes
The fears.
12 new wars
Since 2008
Tells us only
That we have
Learned nothing
About peace.
Still peace must
Be earned
Through desire
And effort
And good will.
Who has the
Desire?
Who will make
The effort?
Who has the
Will?

That is the crux of the problem. Unfortunately we never learn, and as we age, it seems we unlearn things even more.
