Trudging for days in the heat
Sleeping by the sides of the roads
Tear-gassed and beaten
And crammed into trains like cattle
Reminiscent of the Nazi solution
To the “Jewish Problem.”
Innocent victims of war
Never planned for
Never thought about
Now scorned as if they are
And always were the problem
Who wants them?
Who will take them in?
Who gives a damn?

And better answers about your conservative compassion
And better answers about your humanity.
Your war has cost us more than 3 $trillion
More than 4,500 American lives
More than 30,000 American casualties
Your war has cost the Middle East
More than 10 million displaced persons
And more than 4 million refugees.
Hello new candidates to our highest office…
Now do you see the issues of war and peace with greater clarity?
Now do you understand the perils of “really stupid decisions?”

Crisp and clear, Edward. And this is only the start of the race to the cliff. It will quickly move too fast for any decision, let alone preparation, to head it off. It hasn't been oil for a decade now, and the grasping for water comes just in time for reports that the five largest concentrations of humanity have already pumped their aquifers dangerously low. How hollow that achievement of mine, happiness, seems now.
It's so easy to sweep away the problem. Just cut the very causes you espouse so that real humans fall through the cracks, and let "charity" (or untimely death) take the hind most.
