Poem Artwork

Risky or Risque?...

Oh I’ve been battered and tossed
And felt hopelessly lost
In life’s many wrinkles and furrows
I’ve chased my share of rainbows
But as the old saying goes
Am I willing to pay the true cost?

There’s more to this life
Than mortgages and strife
And kisses that make our hearts soar
To have someone near us
To hear us and cheer us
We’re lucky if she’s also our wife.

There is no-one I can name
Who drives me hopelessly insane
With a wink, a smile, or a scowl
But when she undresses
and starts those caresses
I’m down for the count for awhile.

Don’t wake me before noon
Otherwise you’re too soon
Rise and shine’s for yahoo’s and such
I can’t walk I can’t talk
Before 2 o’clock
When I get back to my real sense of touch.

Oh somewhere the sun is shining
And somewhere hearts are light
And somewhere people are dancing
And somewhere children shout
But do not question my manhood
‘Cause this lad never strikes out!

A very impassioned poem about your deepest thoughts. Much appreciated. And she will appreciate, it too.

Wonderful indeed to have someone near us to hear us and cheer us, that is a blessed state to live in. Enjoyed the poem, Ed.

Plenty enjoyable, this one. Poetry style was delightful, as was the content. A very refreshing reading. ~~ djl

As it is increasingly visible, the best and most honest appraisal of ourselves is ourselves. Sadly, too few dare take the plunge. Thanks for sharing your assessment, as it is true to what you've presented to your readers for years.
