I hope you really feel this for what it is. The drawing is not mine. I wish I could draw like that.

Tears

Your absence
has left tears
in the fabric of my soul
My spirit weeps
tears of sorrow
falling to the soil of regret
water the weeds
of uncertainty
I dare not pull them out
lest they are all
that’s left
of my purpose
without you

This is such a quintessential write, Regis - truly masterful and thoroughly honed and considered. Not one word too many; not one word too few. Perfect clarity and concentration of thoughts distilled through the crucible of pain. Regret of the past and uncertainty about the future, here, I think... and yet maybe also not enirely without hope of redemption that perhaps those weeds will become in fact, wild roses or newly cultivated blooms in some kind of metamorphosis?! As your words, so with your beautiful pencil drawing... clear, lightly expressed, delicate. And not YOUR own eye weeping here, but maybe that of your lady who is likewise confused and in pain?! I would like to think so and to dare to hope for resolution. Loved therefore the twin tears appearing on the beautiful face...your eyes see deeply, Regis. Bless you for this. Kate xx
