This is still about the same person who's kept me wondering why I keep feeling this way...

Poem Artwork

Indifference

They would like
Me
To paint
Pretty poetic pictures
With lovely lyrics
About the loveliness of life
Like
Touch of sun
Kiss of rain
Tickle of snowflakes
Soupçon of storm
Shroud of cloud
Whisper of wind
Wink of star
Soothing solace of the sea
Scent of sultry summer day
Promises of rainbows
But
The mist
Rising from the chasm
Left by your absence
Dulls my senses
And all I can do
Is be
Indifferent
At best

ILYSa….

Being indifferent at a time like this is normal - The mist takes over, and being indifferent is acceptable - sorry it happened, hope future times are better and get better and better. Love and peace.

Regis,
You have captured my situation. Here lately, I have tried so many times to write a piece of poetry, but words fail me miserably. Normally it takes me no time at all to put one together.

I don't know how I missed reviewing this one Regis...I certainly know how this feels...nothing feels right, everything is out of sync...and the only way to deal with it is to turn off the light. You've captured this so well. I only hope it's not how you are really feeling these days...Many blessings...Michelle

It's that very indifference that inspired this write, so in longing for another with your sentiments expressed so vividly in this poem you created beauty without even trying! Thanks for sharing your indifference!

Hurt causes indifference. Survival is not letting oneself open for more of the same. It's sad, but we can only take so much. Expressed well, Regis.

Finesse! Another great display of words with much feeling. I don't think change of scenery will help your indifference. Go ahead and feel what you are feeling, it's okay, "tomorrow" is another day. This write may not be about you personally, but you wrote it with depth. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hugs,

Indifference in the rest stop of the emotions. And it's okay to feel nothing, as long as one keeps knowing what's important on the inside.

I love your imagery and your writing Reg. . . that I'll never feel indifferent about.

Sweet rest my fellow muse,

I know exactly how indifference feels....even though indifference implies not feeling - I've always thought it's more like feeling EVERYTHING so acutely that you are "numb". At any rate, there's always sun on the other side of the clouds isn't there....! Wonderful work Regis.

Whatever you are up to, be it happy and sad-just express yourself the way you have to. Only if you are honest, you will create something great. And this one is a wonderful write. And I love the phone.

Don't you mean "Indifferent AT ITS BEST"?!! Regis, emotionally you may feel yourself to be under that wonderful mist, but poetically you rise high above it! I keep quoting dear Floria all over the place: "Pain makes the pen fly" - and it seems to bring out the most wonderful write here: disarmingly naked and vulnerable, and yet not without the sharpness of mind to turn this with a twist of penetrating wit;i.e. you have written precisely the pretty, objective poem that Sa.... has requested of you! And in such an economical and supreme way, as well!! The lucidity of your work never ceases to amaze, me, Regis, and all I keep seeing is your brilliant, clear-shining soul beaming out at us, like a penetrating lighthouse beam... no fog at all! You are indeed the master at producing this unrivalled quality of understated work. All I can say is that your honesty and openness reaps a bountiful poetic reward which I hope goes more than a little way to encourage you to keep working things through... with our without your "muse"! I truly loved this write, Regis. Bless you. Kate xx

I got some wisdom from another writter who told me to write for myself and express myself not what others want me write. We must move forward and remember that should walk the path we decide on not others.
This confirms that wisdom I got.

Indifference seems to suit you, Regis as it truly works for you poetry wise...but, while moving on is hard, and not something we want to do, I think it is the way of life, we all lose, we all want, but there again we all have to move on...AND, write what you WANT, don't let your writes be dictated by what others may want, you are a great writer, you have to do what you think is necessary...I will get off of my soapbox now...Peace dear friend, Ed & Rufuz

Regis, while I read this there was a thousand thoughts overtook my mind, but the one thing that stood at the end was the fact that sometimes we can't do what others expect us to do. We can't allow the wants and advice to trace our pathways for us.
Clearly your heart is sore and strained..but what's even clearer is you are tiring and maybe even faster than you realize.
Maybe a bit of a rest? Lisa
