Poem Artwork

Near The Sea I Breathe

Oh to be by the tranquil sea
untouched by the soiled hands of humanity

To rest
upon the golden dunes

To watch
the sea and sky unite
white birds
green sea
grey sky
glimpses of sun
emerald grass
golden sand

To smell
the scent of salty sea

To feel
the cool clean touch of carefree wind
and drops of spray from spotless sea

To taste
the air of salty sea

To hear
the plaintive cries of birds
that come and go and come again
the song and sigh of wild yet gentle wind
through grassy dunes
the soothing rhythmic roar of waves upon the beach
the serene song of the deep

To sleep
in peace until the gentle sea
nudges my face with cool and liquid touch
and wakens me

The scenes in this poem I've experienced, the dunes , the birds, the salt smell. I like the fact you go back to the dunes, cause it's always nice to go back and be at the ocean.

I loved it! I haven't been to the beach in awhile and this poem took me there. Everytime I go to the beach I can't wait until everyone is asleep so I can have some quiet time listening to peaceful sound of the sea. Well I got a piece of it tonight through this beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing. God bless you, PB.

Oh Reg This is Beautiful What a wonderful place to be You really captured so elequently all the beauties of the sea. Gorgeous!
I'd like to see this written in French though You should post both when you translate them for us one language speaking people. French is so flowing and so romantic this poem has got to be more beautiful and captivating in the ever so romantic soft French accent and words.

The sea is both mother and mistress, an inspiration and an exhalation. She quenches the thirst that she creates. Water just IS the most amazing thing and are we surprised that the earth is 2/3 of it and that we are composed ourselves of a very high percentage of it... yet, who would know? She is all invasive and yet elusive. A beautiful tribute, Regis, and, like Chanti, I would love to see and hear you read the French - seems fitting somehow. TY kATE XX
