Someone challenged me to write a poem about a poem... ...so I did. ☻

Poem Artwork

A Poem Is…

A giggling brook
Sliding over moss covered emerald stones
Among forest giants bowing their boughs
In appreciation and wonder

A gentle swan
Gliding on the glassy surface
Of a serene woodland pond

A spectacular dawn
Resplendent with multicoloured hues
Among angel clouds
Ditto a sunset

A placid sea
Its roaring whisper gentle
In the rising tide of midnight
Reflecting a golden pregnant moon

A skein of geese
High overhead in autumnal sapphire sky
Urging each other on
Resolute and sure
From eons of ritual

A sea of wheat
With golden waves undulating
Under the waning amber sun of late summer

A poem is all of these and so much more
There are not enough words to express in verse
The wonders of this world and life

But the culmination
The recognition
The poem I am thinking of is
You my lovely love
You punctuate each one
And eclipse all of these wonders

For you are the quintessence
Of all my poetry

Great poem Regis, very traditional, you could have been one of the great classic poets if you were living in 19th century Victorian England.

OH MY GOODNESS, REGIS...SHE TEARED UP, I JUST KNOW SHE DID. OF COURSE, YOU'RE GOING TO SAY IT, MANY TIMES, BUT...IF YOU NEVER PRONOUNCE THE WORDS TO HER AGAIN, WITH EVERY STROKE OF YOUR PEN SHE WILL REMEMBER THAT YOU'RE SAYING, 'I LOVE YOU'. GOD IS LOVE AND SO AM I, I AM A ROMANTICIST, I SAVED THIS. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

This one is a prize! It flows like a rolling river from verse to verse. Every picture is a treat, accentuating the beauty of the whole.
The "culmination" is no surprise, coming from your pen, but nevertheless is lovely.

The Pacific Northwest personified. Having been there a time or two, one cannot marvel at how poetic nature is there. You are very fortunate to be living in a living poem.

Aside from your limericks, one of your best.
