Poor soul, poor soul, what have you done,
You read my words, thus it’s begun,
So now I must beguile you with verse,
But fear thee not, though pain it brings,
At least you have not heard me sing,
For that, for you would be so much the worse,
Heed well my words, for they are true ,
Such agony I’d bring to you,
With screeching sounds escaping from my throat,
Like a chainsaw on a metal fence,
You’d slit your wrists as I commence,
Be grateful you just read the words I wrote,
For though they may lack grace and style,
And your eyes may glaze in just a while,
From reading pointless drivel for so long,
Give thanks to any God you choose,
That all you do is read my muse,
And not suffer the Hellish torment of a song,
Poor soul, poor soul, what have you done,
Do you not know, now it’s begun,
This rhyme will be as long as War and Peace?
Escape now, Flee while time remains,
Before it drivers you near insane,
The way, some say that it has done to me,
Though truth be known, I’m not insane,
Ask my invisible friend Loraine,
She’ll say I’m not, I’m special and besides,
You know I said this rhyme at least,
Would be as long as War and Peace?
Well you might be pleased to know now,
That I lied,

For that, for you would be so much the worse,
Alas, neither can I - but we can dream!
