From within, I remember listening to your heartbeat,

one beat, two beats, three beats four,

the harmony of love, which I wanted nothing more.

Time passed by and I soon ran out of space,

forced into a world,

where I would soon see your face.

Separated for the first time,

only seconds apart from you, I was so afraid,

not realizing it was my new life to be made.

Eyes closed, body shivering from head to feet,

overcome by fear of not hearing your heartbeat,

I had only one desire,

it was you I wanted to meet.

My fear grew and it grew,

in this world frightening and new,

feeling the touch of a stranger’s hand

speaking words I didn’t understand.

I was not ready, not then not now,

I wanted to find you,

but I didn’t know how.

I wanted to go back,

Yet somehow I knew, it something I just couldn’t do.

So with my first breath in a world apart from you,

I did what all babies do.

I cried and I cried,

Hoping you would find me,

and I would find you.

Suddenly, they laid me in your arms,

as you griped me tight,

with all your love, and all your might.

Then from within,

Embodied without sin,

I heard a familiar sound,

It was the sound of your heartbeat,

one beat, two beats, three beat four,

the sound I grew so fond of,

which I knew was your love.

There within your grasp,

I felt your soul and more,

Under your love,

That I was born to adore.

God is the only one in this world that can give us such a love. His love is such an undying love and he will never fail us even though people will always fail us. This is a wonderful thing to have the love and know the love of such a great man.

This is awesome ... very descriptive of our very warm and protective beginnings before being thrust out into the "cold", where we would not survive but for the unconditional love of an adoring mother.
