With the lights turned low

The day rolls on as they usually do then on into dinner followed by a short time of evening repasts.

Then it’s off to your room to avoid all the rest, now it’s your time to take a short trip.

Walk over to the shelves that hold your itinerary, let’s see as your finger dances across the titles.

Where shall we visit tonight, the mountains of the Andes or the shores of Tripoli?

No passports, no airports, there are no tickets required tonight. Destination, destination, now where will it be?

Riding rafts with Tom Sawyer, or Black Beard’s favorite haunts. Should we save a damsel or slay that nasty dragon once again?

Well there is that trip to Washington with the mighty Mr. Smith. Or could we stop off and pick up that  little rabbit named Harvey of course, he’s that rabbit that no one can see.

All lay before me pages bound within covers of leather so strong. Mine for the choosing, all waiting to be held.

Show your courage and conviction to step out into the night, open the cover and begin, the trains pulling out.

Hop aboard; the rides free and your journey will begin, crawl under the blankets and let chapter one begin.

There’s no one to stop you, no real price to be paid, except the time you invest, to make that world come alive with adventure and romance. Will I be the hero or a victim again tonight?

When the morning’s sunshine wakens you to your new day, you’ve completed your trip from last night’s itinerary.

Place your travel guide on the shelf where it’s waited before, and maybe tonight you’ll meet once again; and your departure’s at sundown… there’s no reason to be bored.

Bear

Your love of books and the escape that they bring shines through in this prose Rob. I don't think you will find many at AD that won't join you for the ride!
