I was swimming in the deep blue sea
but nobody came to rescue me
I thought I was strong I thought I was free
but nobody came to rescue me
nobody’s ever gonna come to rescue you
you have to rescue yourself it’s true
I was swimming in the deep blue sea
nobody came to rescue me
I deserve to be rescued like anybody else
but I had to save myself
nobody came to rescue me
to rescue me from the deep blue sea
nobody came to rescue me
I thought I was strong I thought I was free
but there was no bottom beneath my feet
the deep blue sea
full fathom five
thy father lies
those are pearls that were his eyes
thy mother lies up in the sky
you're on your own sink swim or fly
don't expect a rescue soon
that doesn't mean that you are doomed
you gotta try to stay afloat
you have to be your own boat
the deep blue sea just doesn't care
the deep blue sea is everywhere
Can't deny this piece has got everything going for itself: rhyme, rhythm, broad breadth of philosophic reflection and the imagery to back it all up. You have indeed pumped a lot into a tiny space and let the refrain do the rest of the job. It wouldn't be difficult for those musically-inclined to set it in the proper tune/melody. Kudos!
Our culture has taught us to believe in many ideas which aren't actually real. Exposing these illusions allows us to recover the power to live our lives according to our deepest desires.
But I kept wondering why the Yellow Submarine didn't come to save you. ;-)
