Poem Artwork

Must it be like Snow White,
a poisonous apple to eat
to find my Prince Charming?
Personally, I find this thought
a little disarming to my mind.
Must I be like Cinderella,
and need the help of make believe
to create my joyous reality?
To rise up from the cinders
to the elegance of an evening grand,
to lose a glass slipper
and have a prince search the land,
for you...just for you,
the love of his dreams.
A world of illusion where
everything seems so real
you could  touch, he loves you so much
this prince - believing in happily ever after,
Must I sleep the sleep of lovers
like Sleeping Beauty did those years?
Must I close my eyes and dream
that love will find me, vanquish fears.
And when he bends to wake me -
with a kiss as sweet as honeyed wine,
Will we live as one in love so much
until the eternal clock of time...
Stops ticking?
