(My daughter usually took a banana to school for morning tea. One day for some strange reason I wrote a message on one and of course, as any parent knows, this instantly became a firm, and unbreakable, family "tradition". So then each day along with her banana my daughter took a little poem from her dad - just big enough to fit on a banana. Not only that but reading my daughter's banana at morning tea became a bit of a class "tradition" at school. Then someone said "you know you should write these down on something a little more permanent". - So here is a running record of some of my banana peel poems coming to you as they happened!
Term 1 and 2 are already posted. Term 3 is the last of the series because after that they started giving her lunch and morning tea at school and she stopped taking bananas.)

Makes your day go much better.
I have to stick to poems though,
There's not enough room for a letter.

The homework's done and I've had some fun.

The week has only started
But the term is nearly done.
The school's problems are nearly over,
But dad's have only just begun!

Said the spider to the fly.
Aww somebody's already put them on,

This banana is rather short,
One may even say stumpy.
Say! There were seven in the bunch,
Maybe this one's grumpy?

Bananas are easy to write on,
Though not big enough for a ballad.
Imagine the problems I'd have
If you took cold meat and salad!

They'd probably have nothing to say,
Just hang around in a bunch,

Bananas hanging on the trees
Growing quietly in bunches,
Taking bets on who'll make teas,
And who'll end up as lunches.

I have three young children and they too always have a banana in their lunches. I have never heard of "Banana Appeal" but this has to be worth slippin' into their day!

Omg, these lil banana appeel pieces are so adorable and precious. Not only my dear man are you one creative and ingenius poet, I am sure you are one super special dad who in his daughter's eyes just totally rocks!!!! I have enjoyed reading this series DJ!
