I have not been to India, but I have been to Pakistan and Bangladesh. Your descriptions are moving of the harsh environment where scholarship and excellence flourishes amid the pollution and degradation. The only sweet treats that I saw tended to be covered with flies. Still, the food is fantastic and so are the sights.
