When the eyes of rage are staring deep into your soul you start to cringe inside. No words have to be spoken, the eyes speak for themselves... ~Peace~
~Eyes of Rage~ She is afraid to see him through his eyes of rage He has her locked up in his own private cage Her biggest wish is to someday see the light The shackles are getting very heavy and tight She is trying to loosen them with all her might He took away her younger days by hiding her away She feels ugly, unintelligent, nothing she does is right Walking on eggshells was expected in her daily life The rage held inside of him is fueling his sick mind Afraid to leave because no one would ever believe To him she is nothing but a fixture for other’s to see She prays everyday for the eyes of rage to go away Never knowing when one day it might really be too late Maybe a snap ending her life; somedays she wished that to be Knowing there is a slim chance that she will ever break free © Copyright 2010 Chessly Lynn Nesci

And we build our own prisons, as all anyone has to do is walk out the door. HOWEVER, we gravitate toward what we're used to because it's familiar... even if it's killing us. Nicely done.

This is a powerfully gut-wrenching piece! I know of women living in this space, and in my work I've helped some escape. Many feel that writing about it is their only escape, but there are ways to get out before its too late!

Eyes, and the look of eyes can silently, certainly tell the feeling of one. I am a very gentle man, but when angry, my wife would say that she could always tell my feeling, and the extent of my anger, by looking into and at my eyes. Well written, my lady.
