In my dream my father was strong again and feeling no pain...~peace~

~Believe~

Had a dream and saw his familiar face
We were in the most beautiful place
Music, laughter, so much love
 Angels were singing up above
One opened up a large book
The first page said believe...
My father walked right past me
Looked at him and started  to cry
He didn't know me,  wondered why?
Maybe because It wasn't my time...

Wonderful poem Chessly,and so true.
I too have written a poem entitled "Believe". I'd be honored if you'd read it and leave a comment when you get a moment.
Continued success~

My first time to your site and I am delighted with your poetry! I still dream of my father who passed away so long ago; I don't think we ever really get over the death of our parents as you have so lovingly portrayed in this poem. You will join him one day in the place where angels sing and when it is your time, your father will recognize you and welcome you with open arms. Fantastic read.

Chessly, I sometimes see my father in the mirror when I'm shaving.

This must have been a disturbing dream for you. In reality, I believe we will definitely know each other.
The Bible verse I think of quickly is "We shall know, even as we are known." I'd have to research to find more for you.
Another thought--Maybe your father was looking right at Jesus, who was so glorious that all others were unnoticed.
Blessings,
Connie

Dreams can be lovely or disturbing and this dream was obviously disturbing. Good poem, my friend.
