A man and his dreams.

It all started by visiting a loved one
My days up to that point had been of torment
Visiting would surely help my inclination

The morning was bright and cheerful
My walking steps were resilient
The destination was within my sight

I arrived at the home of my relative
I was welcomed with open arms
It had me feeling exuberant and fervent

There were others visiting also
A lot of introductions ensued
Then SHE was there in front of me

SHE was slightly shorter than I was
We were almost at eye level
And there they were, her gorgeous eyes

They were two emerald come-hither bolts of beauty
I was completely mesmerized
I felt compelled to worship her

My eyes drifted to her alluring lips
By impulse I moved to kiss her
Then my magical world ended

I felt a shove on my left shoulder
A voice brought about my reality
Time for your medication, I heard the voice say

Anthony - Enjoyed the irony of this poem. It rings with the truth of reality - both interior and exterior. Strong final lines:

I felt a shove on my left shoulder
A voice brought about my reality
Time for your medication, I heard the voice say

That "... shove on my left shoulder" resonates; the location of our life, our love and our mortality. - David

I have learned, Anthony, to take some measure of happiness in that other life -- the dreamworld. Sure, it is not "real," as we see it, but it's still a part of us. it's still something to enjoy. Think of it as a preamble. I really love reading your work. I can see that you are a suffering and sensitive soul. Yet another one, in this harsh world. Please hang in there, trite as it sounds. I can tell there is treasure within you, and it is still shining.
