I once knew a fellow,
who reminded me of myself.
He had a craving for the contents,
of the bottle on the shelf.

It filled him full of courage,
and turned his nerves to steel.
Why, he could whip a wildcat,
nine foot tall it made him feel.

He said he could easily whip a dozen,
and never get a scratch,
and no living man or beast,
could ever be his match.

Well, he lived with this illusion,
just damn near all his life,
till he got clobbered and I mean really clobbered,
by his one hundred pound wife.
